Ascension Memorial Church
Search Committee Selected
The Vestry is pleased to announce the members of Ascension Memorial Church's Rector Search Committee:
Joel Barrett, Mark Carbrey, Jane Carolan, Beth Dixon-Smith, Glenn Gibbs, Paula Jones, Arthur Kazianis, Deb Lindahl, Betsy Ridge, and Soren Suomi.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who participated in the nomination process, whether by submitting a nomination or by offering themselves for consideration. The response from the parish was extraordinary. We were blessed with a strong and talented group of nominees whose gifts, experience, and commitment to Ascension made the discernment process both thoughtful and challenging.
The Search Committee has been entrusted with the important work of helping our parish listen for God's call as we seek our next Rector. In the months ahead, the committee will gather information from the congregation, help tell the story of Ascension Memorial Church, and work with the Diocese to identify and evaluate candidates.
Please keep the members of the Search Committee in your prayers as they begin this sacred work. We also ask your prayers for our parish, for those whom God may be calling to serve as our next Rector, and for the guidance of the Holy Spirit throughout this process.
Rector Search Update
The next step in our search for a new rector is about to begin!
The Search Committee will soon be launching a Congregational Assessment Tool (CAT) survey in partnership with the Diocese's consulting firm, Holy Cow! Consulting. This survey is one of the most important parts of the search process because it gives every member of our parish an opportunity to share their experiences, hopes, priorities, and vision for AMC's future.
The CAT is a customizable assessment instrument designed to help us better understand who we are as a parish and where God may be calling us. Through the survey, we will be able to:
Measure the congregation's satisfaction and energy levels.
Identify the critical success factors for improving our parish climate.
Pinpoint the strengths of our congregational culture.
Discover where members would like the parish to go in the future.
Gauge our readiness for change.
Uncover resources and opportunities that may be missing.
Prepare thoughtfully for the call of our next rector.
The survey will be available both online and in paper form, making it easy for everyone in the congregation to participate. Once the survey period is complete, Holy Cow! Consulting will compile and analyze the responses. The results will then be shared with our Transition Officer, The Rev. Greg Perez, who will interpret the findings and present them to the Search Committee.
Please watch for additional information in the coming weeks about when the CAT survey will begin and how you can participate. Every voice matters, and we encourage every member of our parish family to take part in this important step of our journey together. Your prayerful participation will help shape the future of AMC.
