HELPFUL TIPS FOR VOLUNTEERS:

Juice Boxes
Please bring in approximately 30 – 40 juice boxes. Juice that is white based, such as apple or white grape, etc. might be preferable so it won’t be as apt to stain. Before 9:30 a.m., put the juice boxes on the tray that will already be out on the large table in the Family Lounge (the main, large room) downstairs. If there are already juice boxes on the table or in the cabinet please add your contribution to the surplus in the cabinet. Juice Boxes are always needed and appreciated!

Kids Snacks
Please bring in about 2 – 3 different kinds of snacks for the children and the adults that gather in the Family Lounge during the Sunday School hour. We do need a high volume of snacks because there are many families involved in the Our Beach Program. Some examples of possible snacks are: cookies, pretzels, goldfish, baked goods (such as muffins, etc.), crackers and cheese. Occasionally, others involved in the program will also donate baked goods if they happen to have made them.

Prior to 9:30 a.m., put the snacks in the baskets that will already be on the table. There may already be napkins in the baskets laid out on the table for use. If you think that extra snacks or napkins are needed, please feel free to check in the grey metal cabinet in the Crane’s Creation Room and take out what you need.

Coffee
If you sign up to prepare the coffee, there are two options. There is a coffee maker and coffee pots (silver) up in the big kitchen off the gym. Under the coffee maker, in the cabinet, is the coffee, as well as the filters. It takes a while to heat up the water and perk the coffee, so it is necessary to start the job earlier in the morning. Please make two pots of regular coffee. The sugar, stirrers, and cups are usually already on the table downstairs, but if necessary, there is a supply in the kitchen. Also, please provide cream for the coffee.

If you would like a tutorial on making the coffee, please call Cathy MacDonald-Barg at 978 356-5126. Another option is to bring in coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts. If this is your choice, please bring in two large cartons, as we tend to go through a lot of coffee.

Put the coffee pots (or cartons) on the large table prior to 9:30 a.m.

Clean-Up
Please clean up the Family Lounge room after Sunday School ends, usually around 10:45 to 11:00. Clean up consists of wiping down the table, throwing away trash, and picking up obvious crumbs. There are usually some cleaning wipes out already. There are also cleaning sprays and paper towels in the cabinet in the Crane’s Creation Room. Please throw away trash and put remaining snacks (if they will stay fresh) in baggies and store in grey metal cabinet. Please take coffee pots back to the big kitchen off Boone Hall and rinse out.

If you have any questions, feel free to email Monica Joyce: mojocnm@gmail.com

Thank you very much for your help!!
